Vespa LX 150 custom - "The empire strikes back" - 2024 - 2026

 Sorry guys and girls, it's been two years since the last update, I know, way too long. 

As an apology, RL issues have stalled this project, and I guess you all understand, RL always takes precedence... It was not financial, it wasn't loss of interest, just pure RL facts that stacked up in the way of this project. 

But things have been progressing, although rather slow, and I am now closer to completing the project than ever before. 

One disclaimer I have to make before going indepth with the current status of the project.

I have to confess on impulse buying a new scooter that will probably be the next project. 

I will make a new blog about the newcomer so I will not disclose here what it is and what I will do with it, so for now let's focus on the current one.

Quick update and timeline of 2026. 

20.06.2026

The frame, is 99% complete but still in the bodywork shop, going slow but steady. The fact that I had to remove the battery pocket, (the one with the serial number, so it would fit the new frame ) has eventually proven to be a bad long term idea, as the frame warped in it's absence, so we were forced to straighten it back to line. 

Luckily we had another LX to take measurements from, so now it's slowly taking shape.

It's finally complete, out of the bodyshop and into the paintworks.

Happy day. The paintjob is finally done, and the result is absolutely fabulous. Now let's hope we have time to assemble the whole thing before Christmas, it would be a wonderful gift.
